to be behindとbent out of shape ~Bで始まるスラング⑥~ [Slang]

今回はBで始まるスラングの6回目、to be behindとbent out of shapeです。英会話レッスンで習ったスラングについて少しずつまとめていますが、
だんだんスラングとイディオムの違いがわからなくなってきました
イディオムは単語の組み合わせでフォーマル、スラングって特定の人やグループで使われている話し言葉だと思っていたのですが、スラングとして習ったフレーズの中に、これってよく聞くしイディオムじゃないの?って思うものがあったり。
スラングは話し言葉で調べてみると、
”If you look at the two words idiom and slang, you will see that in the English language the word slang is used as a noun as well as a verb. On the other hand, idiom exists only as a noun. Moreover, idiom has its origin in the late 16th century. Slang has its origin in Mid 18th century."
と書いている人がいました。(http://www.differencebetween.com/difference-between-idiom-and-vs-slang/)
なるほど~イディオムは名詞で、起源が16世紀なんですね。
わかったようなわからないような。
また時間がある時にでも調べてみようと思います。
⑫To be (or to get) behind (someone/something):
To support (someone/something).
人・物を支持する・サポートする
前回に続き、behindを使ったスラングです。
これも意味が想像しやすいですね。
後ろにいる=支援している
ex: "I'm behind you on this."
このことについて君を支持するよ
⑬Bent out of shape:
Upset/agitated.
イライラする
getと一緒に使われることが多いです。
形が崩れる→通常の状態ではない→怒っている、イライラしている、動揺しているというようなことでしょうか。
ex: "Don't get all bent out of shape over that."
それについてイライラしないでよ。
